Ian Grayson

Managing Director/Electrical Contractor

Since establishing his business as Wurtulla Electrical Systems in 1992, Ian Grayson has more than maintained the same passion and commitment he had for the industry back then. Now, over 25 years and countless projects later, he is realising his vision of developing a dynamic, well respected, and nationally recognised company in the HVAC, Air Conditioning, Electrical and Data Communications industries.

Ian’s coaching and consultative management style has attracted and retained excellent teams of tradesmen and administrators alike, along with blue chip clients such as BHP, Rio Tinto, and CP Mining (Sino Iron Ore). As such, Ian is an Approved Electrical Contractor/Electrical Tradesman with each of these leading players. Ian also holds a Diploma in Project Management, and is well versed in designing both electrical and HVAC projects.

As an employer and mentor, Ian is highly regarded as a person who fosters the members of his workforce beyond the job. He has hosted many Electrical Apprentices over the years, and has delivered quality tradesmen as a result. Ian’s Wes Group team reflects the same dedication, passion, and commitment to their trade as Ian, all those years ago. Ian also sponsors the Sunshine Coast Falcons Rugby Union Club, and is a huge REDS fan!

As a tradesman, Ian is highly skilled and continually maintains his qualifications. His stringent commitment to safety and accuracy is translated across his entire workforce and ingrained in the ethos of the organisation; as is his insistence on tidy worksites at all times. He loves a good challenge and along with the everyday WES Group projects, he loves to take on jobs that are a bit different.
